Completed over 60 films throughout his career.

Became the quintessential Hollywood swashbuckling hero and romantic lead, especially during the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Wrote three books, including Beam Ends, Showdown and an autobiography, My Wicked, Wicked Ways.

Wrote the screenplays for Cuban Rebel Girls and Adventures of Captain Fabian.

Directed two documentaries in 1952: Cruise of the Zaca, about his voyage in the South Seas with scientists from the California Institute of Technology, and Deep Sea Fishing, a silent documentary starring Flynn and Howard Hill.

Worked with such Hollywood legends as Olivia De Havilland, Basil Rathbone, Bette Davis, David Niven, Ann Sheridan, Humphrey Bogart, Ronald Regan and Michael Curtiz.

Was named one of the “100 Greatest Stars of All Time” by Entertainment Weekly in 1997.
