CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Packers drafted Ray in the 3rd round in 1958, out of Illinois.
- Ray earned either first- or second-team All-NFL honors seven times in eight years from 1962 to 1969.
- Won the NFL Championship in 1961 and 1962, selected MVP in 1962. Won Super Bowl I in 1967 and Super Bowl II in 1968.
- Following the 1972 season, Nitschke retired having played 190 games for the Packers, which is second in team history to only Bart Starr and Brett Favre.
- Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978.
- In 1983, Nitschke's jersey number 66 was the fourth to be officially retired by the Packers.
